Objectives
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE THE STUDENTS WITH AN HISTORICAL-CRITICAL GROUNDING, WHICH WILL HELP THEM TO CARRY OUT IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF ISSUES AND PERSPECTIVES OF 20TH AND 21TH CENTURY ART CRITICIS. THE COURSE WILL UNDERLINE CHANGES OVER THE YEARS AND THE DIFFERENT SCHOOLS OF THOUGHT OF RECENT INTERNATIONAL DEBATE.
THROUGH INTERDISCIPLINARY CONNECTIONS AND DISCUSSIONS ON FIGURES AND METHODOLOGICAL ISSUES, THE COURSE WILL SHOW THE STUDENTS HOW TO ENGAGE DIFFERENT CRITICAL TENDENCIES AND HOW TO ORGANIZE THEIR OWN EDUCATION AND RESEARCH WITHIN THE GLOBAL ART SYSTEM.
THE COURSE WILL ALSO ENABLE THE STUDENTS TO DEVELOP A CREATIVE ABILITY IN ORDER TO ORGANIZE KNOWLEDGE AND TO ACHIEVE SOCIAL AND ETHIC RESPONSIBILITY RELATED WITH THE CRITICAL ACTIVITIES AND WITH THE DIFFERENT EXPRESSIONS OF THE ART SYSTEM.
THROUGH A NUMBER OF SEMINAR ACTIVITIES, THE COURSE AIMS TO DEVELOP THE COMMUNICATIVE ABILITIES OF THE STUDENT, PERFECTING HIS OR HER SPECIFIC LINGUISTIC SKILLS.
THANKS TO CONTINUOUS REFERRAL TO THE MOST UP-TO-DATE BIBLIOGRAPHY ON THE SUBJECT, THE STUDENT SHOULD ACQUIRE THE NECESSARY TOOLS AND ABILITIES TO CARRY ON AUTONOMOUSLY AND INDEPENDENTLY WITH HIS OR HER STUDIES WITHIN THE SPHERE OF THE METHODS OF ART CRITICISM.

FACE-TO-FACE LESSONS, SEMINARS. STUDENTS WILL BE INVOLVED IN RESEARCH AND FURTHER GROUPWORK EXAMINATION OF SINGLE SUBJECTS.
Verification of learning
THE EXAMINATION WILL BE MADE UP OF AN ORAL INTERVIEW DURING WHICH THERE WILL BE AN EVALUATION OF THE ABILITY FOR AUTONOMOUS THOUGHT AND CRITICAL MATURITY IN EXPOUNDING ARGUMENTS, AS WELL AS IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE TEXTS IN THE PROGRAMME.
