Overview

The undergraduate course (interuniversity) in Tourism Management and Development aims to offer basic preparation based on linguistic skills as well as general scientific competencies ranging from economic-managerial and legal to history and arts disciplines. Graduates should have the skills that will allow them to work with national and international tourism promotion agencies, local public bodies and companies operating in the tourism sector (hospitality and similar professions). Graduates will also be able to access to graduate courses or 1st level Master's Degrees: to this end the Department of Economics and Statistics has recently activated the Master in Maritime Economics - Logistics and Tourism.

The course has a strong international connotation thanks to the partnership with the Geography Department of the University of Paris-Nanterre La Défense (France).

The course allows students to be awarded a double degree (Italian and French):

  • "Laurea in Economia, Valorizzazione, Gestione del Patrimonio Turistico";
  • "Licence Sciences Humaines et Sociales, mention: Géographie et aménagement, parcours: Valorisation et développement du patrimoine touristique et des territoires".

The three-years degree is planned for 20 students (selected through a written test of general knowledge and knowledge of the French language, as well as an oral motivational interview).

The training cycle is divided into 6 semesters. Students are required to follow four semesters in the home university and two in the partner. There will also be internships with the preparation of tutored final reports, as well as seminars and simulations on finding a project partner in the field of tourism and in financial planning.
