The Master’s Degree in Data Science and Innovation Management (LM-Data) offers a highly multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training approach. The degree program aims to train future data scientists (also preparing them with open data management and professional data intelligence responsibilities) and tomorrow’s cyber-risk managers. The former will be able to analyze a large amount of data and elaborate forecasts on large data flows through the use of state-of-the-art software tools to work in various contexts such as large and medium-sized companies, public administration and consulting firms. The latter will be able, on the one hand, to manage the risks deriving from threats related to the cyber world (eg, Internet, Internet of Things) and, on the other hand, to use the network and, in particular, the Web as an opportunity to define Intelligence tools (eg, fighting organized crime and international terrorism).
In order to achieve the aforementioned educational objective, the Master's Degree Course is divided into two curricula: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Risk Management for Advanced Defense Strategies.
The first curriculum, which aims to train professional such as data analyst e data scientist, is mainly characterized by the study of models, methods and tools for data analysis, both with IT and statistical approaches. The second curriculum, which aims to train professional such as data analyst and cyber risk managers, enriches the IT (data analysis and cognitive approaches), statistics and managerial part with legal and political sciences, in order to allow graduates to develop a complete set of skills useful for managing threats and opportunities deriving from the Networks.
Graduates in Data Science and Innovation Management will have the opportunity to work in both public and private organisations in a variety of sectors (Technology & IT, Finance & Banking, Marketing & Advertising, e-Commerce, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals, Government, Telecommunications, Energy, Research & Development, etc.). The offer of the Dipartimento di Scienze Aziendali - Management & Innovation Systems also includes PhD and Master's courses (for details please visit the Department's webpage).
The study program is highly practical, being not only based on theoretical and academic rigor but also on practical workshops, projects, and internships.
