Course Overview
Modern Languages and Literatures
The Master's Degree in Modern Languages and Literatures, offered by the Department of Humanities and based at the Fisciano University Campus, has a standard duration of two years. To earn the degree, students must obtain 120 ECTS credits. Part-time enrollment is also possible, in accordance with university regulations.
This program is designed as a continuation of the Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Languages and Cultures. It aims to develop advanced skills in two modern languages (chosen from French, English, Russian, Spanish, or German), as well as in the literatures and cultures of European and American countries.
The course structure offers three specialized pathways, each with specific objectives:
Literatures and Literary Translation: Focus on acquiring advanced philological, critical, and historical-literary skills through the study of literary texts in the chosen languages. It also includes training for designing educational programs for the teaching of foreign literatures and integrating language and literary education.
Linguistics and Language Teaching: Provides tools and methodologies for working in language studies and for designing educational paths in foreign language learning, including Italian as a second language (L2).
Languages for Local Resources and Economies: Develops the ability to apply language, archival, and digital skills particularly in the tourism and cultural sectors. It also includes geo-economic, planning, and IT skills relevant to business internationalization and international cooperation.
To promote the practical application of acquired knowledge and professional skills, the course includes workshops and/or internships at companies, institutions, or organizations. These activities can also be carried out during international mobility periods.
