Curricular Internship

Ingegneria Informatica Curricular Internship

The Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Computer Engineering and in Information Engineering for Digital Medicine include a mandatory internship at companies or institutions.

Students may submit their application and begin internship activities after earning at least 120 ECTS.

  • To apply for an internship, students must complete the online application on the internship management portal. After verifying that the eligibility requirements are met, students may select up to three preferred internship projects available on the platform.
  • Internships are assigned by the Delegate for External Training, Luca Greco. During the assignment process, an Academic Tutor will be designated. Together with the Company Tutor, the Academic Tutor will finalize the student’s training project. Priority in internship assignment is based on the number of ECTS credits earned, and in case of equal credits, students who are on track with their studies will have higher priority.
  • Students are required to carry out the activities specified in the Training Project according to the methods and timeline indicated therein. They must also prepare a daily log, and a final report of the activities performed, to be submitted to the Teaching Office at least 5 days before the scheduled validation date.
  • Please note that internships must be carried out in person at the company’s premises. If, due to post-COVID-19 management policies, companies allow part of the internship to be conducted remotely, the Company Tutor must complete an additional declaration (certificate of completed activities) to be attached to the in-person activity log. Both the final report and the certificate of completed activities must be submitted to the department’s Teaching Office five days before the validation date.

Students are required to comply with the following obligations:

  • Follow the instructions of both the Academic Tutor and the Company Tutor, and refer to them for any organizational or other issues.
  • Perform internship activities within the timeframe and at the locations specified in the training project.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding production processes, products, or any other sensitive information related to the host company or institution, both during and after the internship.
  • Comply with company regulations and health and safety rules.
