Final examination

Matematica Final examination

General Information

To book the final exam you must use the procedure Online Thesis Management.

Thesis Template

In compliance with the Degree Course Teaching Regulations, the thesis must be drafted according to the official template prepared with the LaTeX document preparation system.

1. Formatting Parameters (Mandatory)

To ensure the uniformity of the papers, the following parameters in the source file must not be modified:

  • Font type and size;

  • Line spacing;

  • Margins;

  • Page size.

2. Mathematical Environments and Language

The template predefines environments such as definition, theorem, etc., to produce the labels in Italian ("Definizione", "Teorema") in the output.

  • Thesis in English: It is necessary to modify the settings of the environments in the preamble of the LaTeX file to reflect the chosen language.

3. Customizing the Cover and Spine

  • Cover: Customization of colors and fonts is permitted.

  • Spine: The text on the spine can be removed if the thickness of the thesis is not sufficient to accommodate it (e.g., particularly short papers).

4. Notes for Printing

Please remember that the ISO format of the final physical document is B5 (176 x 250 mm) and not the classic A4.

  • Advice: It is suggested to explicitly communicate this specification to the copy shop during the printing phase to avoid trimming or proportion errors.

5. Final Checklist Before Submission

Before generating the final PDF, verify that:

  • LaTeX Parameters: The original fonts, line spacing, and margins have not been modified.

  • Language: The environments (Teorema, Definizione, etc.) are consistent with the language of the thesis.

  • Page Format: The page size has not been modified.

  • Spine: The text is present only if the thesis thickness allows for it.

  • References: There are no "question marks" (??) in the text (perform a double compilation to update citations and cross-references).

Approval request to the supervisor***

No later than 10 days before the graduation session:

by February 13, 2026

* After completing this first step, contact the advisor to get the online thesis proposal accepted.

** Please note that you can only activate the application for obtaining the degree if you have fully paid your university fees. Please note also that the "application for obtaining the degree" phase (i.e., online reservation for the graduation session on February 23, 2026) is available online starting from December 25, 2025.

*** Candidates are advised to activate the third step of the online procedure (i.e. uploading the thesis and abstract and submitting the online approval request) a few days before the February 13 deadline; in fact, the advisor must (within the same deadline of February 13) accept the attachments, containing the final versions of thesis and abstract, and accept the request for online approval.
